Household Survival Budget
4 weeks. 1 family. Real SA food economics.
Household Survival Budget is a 4-week household simulator modelling South African food economics. Players pick a family profile (Gogo + grandchildren, single mother + infant + teenager, or working couple + diabetic parent), shop a 15-item catalogue of real SA staples, and balance trap foods (maize meal, white bread, atchar) against complete-protein combos (samp + beans, maize + morogo + pilchards). Each week draws an event card — load shedding, payday delays, school feeding, pension-day specials — forcing adaptive strategy. A final report card grades the player on protein, iron, calcium and fibre coverage with actionable nutrition tips. The licensable artifact for NGOs, government programs and educational platforms.
